A "Mario" and "Rabbids" Crossover Game Is Reportedly Happening and We're Pumped

The crossover franchise we didn’t know we needed.

When Nintendo released Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle in 2017, it was the last thing fans of both franchises were expecting.

While the game did well, most of us just assumed that the combined worlds would end there.

Well, that was until someone noticed the tiniest detail on the Rabbids' Twitter account this morning, causing many fans to guess that we were being teased about a new combination game between the two franchises.

On Thursday morning, fans started to notice that the Twitter handle for the Rabbids account had changed from @RabbidsOfficial to @mariorabbids.

I mean, who notices that?

Apparently everyone. However, by that afternoon, the Rabbids Twitter handle had been changed back to @RabbidsOfficial (we’re guessing because too many of us began to notice). But it was up long enough for people to speculate.

While this is only a tiny change and not a lot to go off, fans started questioning whether another Mario + Rabbids game is in the works.

If you look closely, the Twitter profile picture for the Rabbids account is also a Mario themed Rabbid. Although, this is not a new upload, and is likely a reference to the first crossover Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (even though the game was released four years ago).

It’s also not clear yet if the Twitter change was intentional or if a mistake was made, but fans are staying hopeful.

The only other piece of evidence that is convincing fans is that Ubisoft—the developers for the Rabbids franchise—is aiming to be the leading Nintendo Switch publisher, so we should expect to see a lot more games from them on the Switch.
