A Fake Robert Downey Jr. Is Scamming People Online, But Real RDJ Is Here to Save the Day

Avengers: Age of Ultron was basically about Tony Stark facing off against a robot-version of himself.

Oh, how life imitates art.

Robert Downey Jr. has posted a message on Twitter warning fans of “one or more scam artists” who are impersonating him online and asking people for “’donations’ to various ‘causes’”.

Even though RDJ has a history of both engaging with fans online and being philanthropic, he insists those messages aren’t coming from him.

“I would never ask individual fans for money for any reason,” he explained.

“Some want to take advantage… so let’s have each other’s backs.”

I wouldn’t want to be the scammer who gets caught impersonating Downey Jr. His work friends are pretty imposing.
