Derek Zoolander and his butterscotch frenemy Hansel made their triumphant return to the modelling world by strutting the stage at The Valentino Show yesterday for Paris Fashion Week.

The surprise appearance heralded the announcement of the long gestating sequel to 2001’s cult favourite Zoolander, in which Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson played rival male models.

Stiller, who directed the original, has been trying to get a follow-up off the ground for years.

There have been rumblings in more recent times that Will Ferrell would also return for the sequel, to reprise his role as the villainous Mugatu. Penelope Cruz’s name has also been floated as a co-star.

All we officially know at this point, however, is that Zoolander 2 will hit cinemas on February 12, 2016.

That date is so hot right now.
