Young Thug Cancels Australian Tour After Failing to Get Travel Visa in Time

It is slime season no longer.

If you were looking forward to seeing Young Thug in concert this weekend, bad news: Tour promotor Live Nation has revealed the rapper (otherwise known as Jeffery Lamar Williams) was unable to secure a visa that would allow him to travel to Australia.

For those of you in Brisbane with tickets to the joint Young Thug/Future show on 25 Feb, you can still see Future solo at new venue Eatons Hill with your existing ticket. You are also able to receive a partial refund of $30.

If you have tickets to Young Thug's Melbourne show at Festival Hall, you will receive an immediate refund if you purchased online, over the phone or at a Ticketmaster outlet with a credit card. For more details on refunds, go bug Live Nation.

Sydney City Limits, meanwhile, has replaced Young Thug on the lineup with "local legend" Tkay Maidza".

Thugger was meant to play Laneway Festival last year, but was dropped by festival organisers beforehand, who said his management "worked very hard to get all of the visa process together," and yet could not get the "somewhat unreliable" artist to meet their deadlines.

The same seems to be the case this time around, with Live Nation saying, "Young Thug has been unable to comply with the requirements for processing his Australian entry visa application and this has now made it impossible to secure visa approval in time for Young Thug to travel from the USA in time for Sydney City Limits."

His unreliability was documented, hilariously, in the video for "Wyclef Jean", which is all about the director lamenting the fact Young Thug didn't turn up to the shoot.

In the cruelest taunt of all, Young Thug scored the biggest hit of his career by collaborating with Camila Cabello on "Havana", a destination that has long been out-of-reach for Americans.

In case you were wondering what else was going on in Young Thug's world, he's begun insisting people start calling him "Sex".

Wonder if you can get that on a passport?

We've reached out to the Department of Home Affairs regarding his visa status, and will update this article accordingly once we've heard back.
