You'll Believe A Seal Can Fly (After Watching A Whale Hurl It 25m Into The Air)

Good morning. Seals have achieved flight.
If you thought that was a jarring way to start your day, spare a thought for the poor seal who unwittingly became the Laika of its species when a killer whale suddenly propelled it 25 metres into the air.
The footage was captured by the team at Roll Focus Productions, who were simply trying to grab some generic footage to promote a British Columbia whale-watching tour when take-off occurred.
According to Canada's National Post, this is a pretty common way for transient whales to stun their prey, but rarely does the prey get so much air.
Though the footage doesn't show what happens next, we can probably assume there's no happy ending to the story, for the seal anyway. Hey, that's life in a global ecosystem. Still, let this article be a tribute to the fallen creature's bravery. You went higher than any seal before you, sir.
