Wrap-Up Fridays: All The New Music, Movies and TV Out This Week

"Big Mouth", "Bros" and Yung Gravy.
Friday’s here and you know what that means: all the new music, TV and movies are out for the week.
After a huge week in music releases last week, it’s a little lighter this week, but there’s still plenty of highly anticipated releases to go through.
TV and Streaming.
There’s a few new seasons of fan-favourite TV shows to get excited about this weekend.
On Wednesday, Star Wars: Tales Of The Jedi dropped on Disney+, and has already picked up major kudos. If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s a six-episode anthology series featuring various collected tales from the Star Wars canon, and features the return of Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn and Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano.
Already, the series has rated a score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and IGN have given the series an 8/10 rating.
Also out this week is the sixth season of John Mulaney and Nick Kroll’s crass Netflix cartoon, Big Mouth. The new series is set to follow the characters as they continue through high school, and will see some cameos from huuge names, including but not limited to: Adam Levine, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Capaldi and Tyler The Creator.
Big Mouth season six drops Saturday morning on Netflix.
In live-action news, The White Lotus is returning for it’s second season. The HBO production was originally intended to be a miniseries, but thanks to its popularity, has been extended for a season two.
Winning 10 Emmys was a major help.
Season two will see the employees and guests of The White Lotus resort in Sicily interact with one another in the series’ signature satirical comedy-drama fashion.
The White Lotus season two drops on Binge and Foxtel Go this Sunday.
Movies.
Two pretty hugely anticipated movies are out this week, and both have already received critical acclaim.
The first is Bros, a new romantic comedy written and starring Billy Eichner, and features the first ever entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast and is one of the first ever gay rom-coms released by a major studio.
Bros has garnered an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics are loving it.
“What follows is an unconventional love story that — although it diverts from and subverts many of the tropes we've grown accustomed to in the genre — feels honest and real for anyone with experience in LGBTQ+ spaces,” Sarah Milner of SlashFilm said.
The other big release this week is The Woman King, a period film following the real-life story of a group of female African warriors in the 1800s, featuring Viola Davis in the title role.
The Woman King has gone even higher in the ratings, picking up a 94% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
“The Woman King isn’t intended to be any ordinary account of history. It is a vibrant, restorative celebration of Black womanhood in all its glory,” said reviewer Clarisse Loughrey of the Independent (UK).
Both Bros and The Woman King released on Thursday.
Marvel fans will know that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had it’s first screening yesterday – that film has received amazing reviews, but it won’t be out in Australia until mid-November.
Music.
Two new releases hit the charts today – one dropped after only being announced earlier this week.
Of course, it’s Rihanna’s new track, “Lift Me Up”. The new track is a part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, so it dropped in conjunction with the premiere.
People are already loving it.

Gravy’s new album “Marvellous” dropped today, and oof, Gravy fans are pumped.
