Where to See Martin Scorsese’s Netflix Movie "The Irishman" in Australian Cinemas

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to see The Irishman in cinemas…"
Esteemed Oscar-winning filmmaker and current Marvel s**tposter Martin Scorsese shocked everyone when he decided to make a movie for Netflix.
But surprise! His long-in-the-works new flick The Irishman will get a limited run in Aussie theatres prior to its global launch on the streaming service.

That means purists will have the chance to soak in Marty’s aesthetic on the big-screen, before getting to rewatch all three-and-a-half hours of The Irishman a few weeks later at home.
The film stars Scorsese’s pre-DiCaprio muse Robert De Niro, who plays real-life WW2 vet and mob hitman Frank Sheeran. Their latest collaboration spans decades in Sheeran’s life, meaning De Niro goes through the same de-aging technology that young'ed up Will Smith in Gemini Man. The picture also pits De Niro against Al Pacino, while serving as a Scorsese reunion for Bobby's fellow, um, Goodfella, Joe Pesci.

If you’re the kind of person who never likes to leave the house, you can wait for The Irishman to come to you when it debuts on Netflix on 27 November. However, you can catch it earlier in select Australian cinemas from Thursday 7 November.
Participating cinemas include Classic Cinema, Belgrave Cameo and Lido Cinema in Melbourne; Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown, Hayden Orpheum and The Ritz in Sydney; Dendy Cooparoo and Dendy Portside in Brisbane; The Backlot in Perth; and Dendy Canberra in Canberra. (You'll notice that the major chains are staying away, likely because they're not fans of the shortened window between cinema release and home availability. Read more about that burbling feud here.)
Our friends in New Zealand can also catch The Irishman in cinemas from 22 November, at Monterey, Bridgeway, Capitol and Academy in Auckland; Roxy and Monterey Cinemas in Wellington; Lumiere in Christchurch; and Rialto in Tauranga.
You’ll of course want to move quickly, because cinemas aren’t likely to keep playing The Irishman once it’s available on home devices.
Seeya at the movies!
