Watch Cardi B’s Fake Baby Prank at the MTV VMAs (and Offset’s, Umm, Reaction)

It’s important to support your partners.

That’s a lesson Offset will hopefully learn today, after being roasted for sitting stone-faced through Cardi B’s opening monologue at the MTV VMAs.

Cardi fired the starting pistol at the 2018 VMAs, emerging onstage with what appeared to be her daughter, Kulture.

However, within 60 seconds, she’d dropped a couple of—look, let’s admit it—weak sauce jokes about bad Wi-Fi and being elected by “the liberals”, and then revealed her fake baby was just a Moonman in a blanket.

We’re not here to say her monologue was secretly great (it wasn't, though it’s always a delight to hear Cardi cycle through accents and unexpected noises, whether in her music or during awards shows).

But if anyone should be faking enthusiasm, it’s her husband, and father of Kulture, Offset.

Instead, the camera cut to the two members of Migos in attendance during Cardi’s stand-up set, revealing a slumped Offset. C’mon man. At least Quavo was forcing a grin!
