A WA Dude Won $240k On An Accidental Melbourne Cup Punt

Sometimes kids, life just isn’t fair.
In a move that will no doubt infuriate everyone who surrendered even the smallest amount of cash during the Melbourne Cup, a WA punter has revealed his massive windfall from an accidental $10 bet.
According to The West Australian, Josh Webber predicted the first four horses to finish – in the correct order – on Tuesday. As a result, his $10 bet paid off to the amount of $241,744.
“There was no checking the form or anything,” he said. “It was just a stab in the dark.”
Webber, the 27-year-old owner of the Loosefoot Saloon Bar in Wundowie, said he simply thought he boxed the four horses, which meant they could have finished in any order for him to win. However, he later discovered that he had ordered them correctly, resulting in an even bigger payday. Basically:

Asked how he’s planning on spending the cash, Webber said he’d already placed a few more bets; “won a couple,” he added, concerningly.
The rest of the money will go towards his staff Xmas party. Sounds like it’ll be a hell of a shindig. I pity the colleague who gets stuck pulling Christmas crackers with him. They won’t win a single moustache comb all night.
