Victoria's New COVID-19 Vaccination Ad Is a Massive Improvement

Did someone say Tim Minchin?
Victoria have responded to the Australian government's fear-mongering vaccination advert in the best way possible by releasing their own jab ad.
For those who didn’t see it, the controversial government ad showed a young woman frantically gasping for air while lying in a hospital bed. The ad was torn to shreds by Aussies who not only found the scare tactics poor taste, but also ironic given young people still can’t get a vaccine.
In contrast, Victoria’s vaccination ad is the right kind of encouragement Aussies need to get vaccinated. Partnering with the state’s performing arts industry, the ad is about how getting the vaccination is “the performance of a lifetime." See what they did there?
From dancers and ventriloquists to violinists, singers and even a mime, nearly everyone in the performing arts industry makes an appearance in the campaign, including one of Australia’s favourite musical comedians Tim Minchin.
His role in the ad is telling us to chat with your GP if you have any questions about the jab “because some of the stuff you read online has some pretty massive plot holes.” Couldn’t agree more Tim.
Here's how the internet reacted to Victoria's COVID ad campaign.
Ngl, we love this advert for its tasteful way of encouraging Aussies to get vaccinated, but there is one tiny blind spot that it does raise.
The performing arts industry was one of the biggest sufferers financially when COVID hit, and artists are still attempting to recover without government assistance.
