US High Schoolers Bring Down Principal Because #Journalism

A group of US high schoolers have brought down their principal after probing into her credentials.
The student journalists, from Pittsburg High School in Kansas, looked into their incoming principal’s resume. They noticed that the website for the institution she received her master and doctoral degrees from wasn’t working and it also didn’t appear in any accredited list.

One of the students, Connor Balthazor, told The Washington Post (WP) that certain things just weren’t adding up.
They found that Corllins University has been accused of being a “diploma mill” where people go to buy degrees and it hadn’t been accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
Balthazor told WP that all of this vital information had been overlooked.
“All of the shining reviews did not have these crucial pieces of information… you would expect your authority figures to find this,” he said.
The incoming principal, Amy Robertson, declined to comment on the exposé claiming that the students’ report was not based on fact.
The article was published in the student newspaper, The Booster Redux, on Friday after weeks of investigation. Just days later, Robertson submitted her resignation to Pittsburg Community Schools .
See, everyone? Good journalism is far from dead.
