Uni Offers Will Come Out Five Days After ATAR Results Are Released This Year

Changes made by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) mean that HSC students won’t have to wait weeks for offers.
This year’s HSC cohort will wait just five days to receive university offers after their ATAR results are released.
A UAC spokeswoman told Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) that this decision has been a long time in the making.
"It was always going to be better for students," she said. "It reduces the stress of those few extra weeks."

The old “main offer round” will be chucked out the window and replaced with a new set of rounds.
The first round will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2017 which will be, shockingly, called the ‘December’ round.
There will also be a ‘January’ round which will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018.
UAC has also announced that the amount of course preferences will be reduced from nine down to five to reduce confusion.
