So, Turns Out There's Going To Be Five "Fantastic Beasts" Movies

We hope you didn’t have plans for the next decade.
J.K. Rowling, author of – do we really need to say it? – the Harry Potter series, dropped a bombshell today during a live fan event – and then proceeded to hammer it home on Twitter.
The bombshell? That the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them prequel trilogy she’s penning for Warner Bros is actually going to be a pentalogy. That means five movies, for those not up to scratch with their Greek.
Fans who couldn’t quite believe their ears received confirmation – over and over again – on social media.
It took a while for some to get the message.
The first entry of the series, directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, will hit cinemas this November. You can probably expect each sequel to be rolled out every two or three years after that (or, if you get really lucky, as an annual event).
In the meantime, Rowling is “putting the finishing touches to the second” screenplay.
Gee, let’s hope these things are actually good, given they will be consuming much of our lives.
