This Is Fine: Trump’s New Comms Director Anthony Scaramucci Goes Off, Threatens to Fire Everyone at End of Week One

We never thought we’d say it, but come back, Spicey.

Last week, the much-mocked White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, quit over President Donald Trump’s hiring of Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci as his new boss and Communications Director.

It took exactly one week to learn why Scaramucci had the irascible Spicer fleeing to the nearby bushes.

(Coarse language ahead.)

The man who now looks after all outgoing communications from the White House, and is theoretically charged with putting out any PR fires, just had an on-the-record interview with the New Yorker in which he described Trump’s Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus, as a “f***ing paranoid schizophrenic” and demanded the reporter, Ryan Lizza, “as an American patriot”, reveal his anonymous sources, before threatening to “fire every one of [his staff]”.

Best/worst of all might be the way he describes the White House’s chief strategist (again, without telling the reporter that this conversation was off the record, or background, which should be pretty standard—and obvious—practice for someone in The Mooch’s position): “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c***.”

The nonsense kicked off when Scaramucci became enraged by the supposed ‘leaking’ of his financial-disclosure form… not realising that the document was publicly available. He told Lizza he blamed Priebus for the leak, calling “the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice” on him.

He then added, in the third person: “The swamp will not defeat him.”

There’s a reason why the internet decided Scaramucci is basically the ‘’80s guy’ from Futurama.

As you can imagine, Twitter received the publication of this interview rapturously.

Anyway, this has been month seven of the Trump presidency.
