This Christmas, Sia’s Giving Us the Best Gift of All: An Original Xmas Album

We’re smiling. You just can’t see it under our wig.

Sia has announced plans for her next album: a Christmas record made up entirely of original songs, per Rolling Stone.

That means this Chrissy, instead of having to listen to ironic, downbeat covers of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” or crackly, ancient renditions of “Good King Wenceslas”, you and nan can get down to a bunch of festive Sia bangers.

We fully expect her to marry the existential malaise of the Christmas holiday with the Caribbean flavours of her hits “Chandelier” and “Cheap Thrills”.

Sia will co-write the songs with Greg Kurstin, who has produced her biggest hits, not to mention Adele’s “Hello” and a whole heap more.

We pray this also means her newie will follow in the footsteps of classic Christmas albums and feature a bunch of duets, if not with Adele, then some of her more recent songmates: Kendrick Lamar, Sean Paul and Kanye West.

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, Sia is also apparently directing her first feature film, although her reps aren’t offering any more details at this time.

So long as it stars her muse, Maddie Ziegler, we’re there.
