Too Wholesome: There's an Army of Fluffy Comfort Dogs Visiting the Las Vegas Shooting's Injured

These comfort dogs need a lifetime supply of belly rubs for their precious work.

A group of 19 comfort dogs has been sent to help victims recovering in Las Vegas' Sunrise Hospital from the injuries sustained in the recent Las Vegas shooting.

The dogs, all Golden Retrievers, were sent there to help comfort the victims after their traumatic experience, mostly by being super loveable.

BuzzFeed News spoke to Tim Hetzner, president of the LLC K-9 Comfort Dogs, who explained that his organisation supplies these dogs after tragic events to help victims come to terms with their experiences.

"The whole week you’ve got dogs with patients who have been shot several times. And they see the dog and they just melt," Hetzner explained to BuzzFeed News.

Hetzner said that the dogs help to keep patients' heart rates down and get them to start talking about their experience. "Talking about what’s happened is a critical part of healing," he explained.

Support and assistance dogs are often used to assist and support people who've been through traumatic experiences or have emotional challenges but seeing so many take on the task at the same time just makes this story that little more extraordinary.

Twitter obviously melted at the sight.

On one hand, I feel terrible that they are needed for so many hurting people. On the other, I actually feel better just looking at this pic https://t.co/JnUZ4KOdR3
