The Thimble Figure in Monopoly Has Officially Been Given the Boot

It’s like the Hunger Games, but Monopoly style.
Hasbro, the maker of Monopoly, have called on fans to vote for their preferred tokens.
Earlier this year, in January, Hasbro opened up fan-based voting on what was called Monopoly Token Madness. Users are able to select new tokens for the game, but there’s a twist. Rather than simply replacing a token (or two)—like it was in the past—the current vote is to select all eight tokens for future versions.

The humble thimble was one of the original tokens included with the game in 1935; now, it joins he graveyard of other retired tokens. Remember the cannon, the wheelbarrow, and the iron? Yeah, R.I.P.
God speed, thimble.
