Aliens Exist? The Pentagon Confirms It's Been Running a Secret UFO Investigation Program

We might not be alone.
Alongside the Apollo 11 moon landing and theories on who really shot JFK, the existence of aliens and UFOs has long been considered an essential in the tin-foil hat starter pack. But, perhaps, there is some truth to these sometimes outlandish claims?
The New York Times (NYT) has revealed that the Department of Defence (DoD), who is based at the Pentagon, legitimately funded a UFO detection program called the 'Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program' for five whole years.

While the DoD claims the program was defunded and made defunct in 2012, Luis Elizondo, the program's lead, admitted that while the funding had finished, the program continued up until this year.
It is the first time the DoD has ever publicly admitted the existence of a UFO-dedicated program, which is pretty exciting because it basically means that The X-Files is real and we SHOULD believe (not a leap, right?).
So, what did the top-secret program find in its years?
The program interviewed ex-servicepeople such as pilots who claimed to have witnessed "unidentified aerial phenomena".
In some of its files, it described the witnessed aircrafts as crafts that fly at very high velocity and have no visible signs of propulsion. Sounds pretty extra-terrestrial to me.
They've also recovered metals from alleged UFO crashes but there's no word on what they revealed, if anything.
A contractor for the program explained to the NYT that understanding the things they've encountered in the program is similar to giving a garage-door opener to Einstein.
"First of all, he’d try to figure out what is this plastic stuff," the contractor explained to the NYT. "He wouldn’t know anything about the electromagnetic signals involved or its function."
Still not convinced? Watch some of the footage that DoD released for yourself.
