"The Old Guard" Starring Charlize Theron Comes to Australian Netflix on 10 July

Wanna see Charlize Theron play an immortal mercenary? 

If you love nothing more than watching a high-stakes action movie, you definitely won't want to miss The Old Guard, starring Charlize Theron. 

Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka, the flick will probably leave you sitting on the edge of your seat.

While a lot of film's release dates are up in the air due to the coronavirus pandemic, you'll be happy to know that The Old Guard is coming to Aussie Netflix on Friday 10 July, so you don't even have to wait that long to see it.

The trailer gives off major Mad Max vibes, but the plot is a little different.

This film follows Andy (Theron), who leads a group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die after fighting to protect the mortal world for centuries. However, when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their abilities are exposed, it's up to Andy and Nile (KiKi Layne), a new soldier, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate their powers.

It is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees), and is produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, AJ Dix, Beth Kono and Marc Evans. Theron is also a producer. 

Theron and Layne star alongside Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Van Veronica Ngo, Matthias Schoenaerts and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
