The Iconic “Charlie Bit My Finger” Video Is Being Sold As an NFT

Creators say the video will be deleted off YouTube.

Remember the "Charlie Bit My Finger" video on YouTube? Well, the creators of that viral clip are jumping on the NFT train and selling the video in an online auction.

Now, we don’t blame ya if you have no idea what this video is even about, considering it came out in 2007. 

Basically, it features two adorable British boys Harry and Charlie (aged three and one respectively) sitting together on a couch. Harry decides to stick his finger in Charlie’s mouth which results in baby Charlie biting down on his older borther's finger. After Harry stops crying from the pain, he tells the camera in the cutest British accent that “Charlie bit my finger," while Charlie begins to laugh.

It might not sound like much, but it was literally all the rage back in 2007 and has amassed a staggering 880 million views on YouTube. Ask your parents or older sibling about it and I'm certain they'll remember. 

This NFT will be a 1/1 and the winning bidder will not only get the NFT but also the opportunity to create their own parody of the "Charlie Bit My Finger" video with the original stars who are now 17 and 15.

Just sayin’, sequels are never as good as the original.

To top it off, the Davie-Carr family (the uploaders of the original clip) have said they will delete the video from their YouTube account after the sale to ensure the value of the NFT remains high.

This isn’t the first mid-2000s meme that we’ve seen being sold for a price; the ‘Nyan Cat’ gif sold for $747,000 in February this year, while the ‘disaster girl’ meme sold for $650,000.

For those kinda prices, we wouldn’t be surprised if the "Charlie Bit My Finger" vid cracks the one million mark.
