Apparently the Teletubbies Got Their COVID Jabs and the Internet Has Questions

It’s "Tubby hot summer"???

This morning, the world woke to the word ‘Teletubbies’ floating around on the Twitter trending page, which tbh really raised some eyebrows.

After some CSI style investigation, we came to find that the Teletubbies were in fact celebrating that they had all been vaccinated for COVID-19 and that they were ready for a “Tubby hot summer.”

I’ve truly seen it all.

For some context, "Tubby hot summer" is referencing the phrase "hot girl summer" (also a song by Megan Thee Stallion) which is all about confidence, self-care, hanging with your bestie and looking good during the summertime—specifically in countries where summer occurs during June and September (meanwhile us peeps in Australia are shivering).

So, we can only assume a "Tubby hot summer" is all about the same stuff, but for Teletubbies only?

Either way, the foursome posted a series of pics showing off their sparkly new vaccination cards. We’re guessing this is a way to help encourage trust and urgency around getting vaccinated to parents and young people.

While it’s an awesome initiative to share important health advice like this to such a wide audience, Twitter users started noticing some inconsistencies with the Teletubbies info, most notably their age.

According to their vaccination cards, all four Teletubbies were born on the same day: 20 Feburary 2003, which would mean that they’re all 18 years old. However (for those of us that remember), the Teletubbies first aired all the way back in 1997, which would make them 24 (what).

This wasn’t the only thing that was pointed out either. On each of the vaccination cards is a patient number that is at least five digits long. For example, Tinky Winky is patient #93752.

We don’t want to alarm you, but this means it’s only fair to assume that there are at least 93755 Teletubbies in existence (I’m scared).

So, not only are the Teletubbies of today possibly clones of the ones I grew up with, but the four that we know are likely part of an alien race that now live on Earth.

On top of this, Twitter users have also pointed out that the Teletubbies appear to share a birthday with American actress and musician Olivia Rodrigo. Even Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas O'Connell dropped in to note his shock over the whole situation.

As you might expect, there are some negative tweets in response to the Teletubbies announcement, but some Twitter users have confirmed that if you’re not keen, then you’re not on board for a Tubby hot summer.

So, idk about you but we suggest you go out and get ready for a Tubby hot summer ASAP.
