Swoon: "Call Me By Your Name" Book Sequel Has Got a Name and Release Date

Elio and Oliver will return later this year.

2017 was a big year in film because it gifted the world with Call Me By Your Name. It captivated hearts, it inspired an unprecedented amount of songs and it ignited the world's collective crush on Timothée Chalamet.

While the film ended on a sort-of bittersweet note, director Luca Guadagnino gave us happy feels when he suggested the story of Elio and Oliver didn't end there.

Now, André Aciman, the author of the 2007 novel the movie is based on, has announced that Call Me By Your Name's book sequel will be released in October of this year.

It's due to be called Find Me and will see Elio as a gifted classical pianist living in Rome and later, Paris. Oliver, now a college professor with a family, is also debating a trip to Europe, where we assume he will reunite with Elio AKA "find" him.

Twitter began quaking in response.

While Hammer has since expressed concern about a movie sequel (boo!), director Guadagnino told IndieWire he's definitely interested in making it happen in the coming years.

"I am scribbling ideas," Guadagnino told IndieWire.

"The truth of the matter is that I love the characters of Call Me by Your Name... and the opportunity to bring them back for more adventures is something that is infectious to me."

With Aciman's announcement, a movie sequel is looking even more promising.
