Superhero Fans Rejoice: “Marvel’s Avengers” Is Coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X

It will be available mid-March.

If you’re looking for another excuse to play your PS5 non-stop, look no further ‘cos Square Enix has confirmed that they will be releasing an updated version of Marvel’s Avengers for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.

Announced via a tweet on Wednesday, the Marvel’s Avengers Twitter shared an updated trailer and revealed that the new version of the popular game would be available from 18 March 2021.

Not only will the updated game be ready for next-gen consoles but it will also come with upgraded visuals including better frame rates, improved destruction, haptic feedback for heroes on the PS5, better load times and more detail.

Before you yeet your PS4 or Xbox One version of the game, don’t stress, if you have one of the new consoles you will get a free upgrade and keep all of your save history when you cross over.

It was sadness all around in October last year, when fans got the news that they would have to wait even longer for the game to become available on next-gen consoles.

Initially, the developer of Marvel’s Avengers, Crystal dynamics, explained in a blog post that they had pressed pause on the development for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, so that they could make sure the game met the right specs for the new consoles.

"We’ve also made the decision to shift our PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S launch to next year to ensure that we give our team the time to deliver a next-gen experience showcasing all that this game is meant to be," Crystal Dynamics said in a blog post.

Along with upgrades to visuals and consoles, the game will also get itself a new character and major storyline.

Yep, that’s right, Hawkeye is joining Marvel’s Avengers on his quest to find Nick Fury and along the way discovers a dangerous weapon created by an evil Scientist.

While you wait for 18 March, check out the trailer below.
