Student Who Got Shut Down for Slamming His School at Graduation Finished the Job on Jimmy Kimmel

Sometimes you gotta fight the powers that be.

Earlier this week, an American student went rogue during his valedictorian speech, but "the man" (aka, his principal) shut him down when he began veering off the pre-approved script.

During the graduation ceremony at Wyoming Area Secondary Center in Exeter, Pennsylvania, 18-year-old senior class president Peter Butera criticised the “authoritative attitude that a few teachers, administrators and board members have,” before accusing the school of preventing “students from truly developing as true leaders”.

Before he could finish, his mike was cut out and he was escorted off the stage, although not before receiving a standing ovation from his peers.

Jimmy Kimmel then invited Butera onto his late-night show to finish the speech. Kimmel also offered his advice: “Keep being a pain in the ass.”
