“Stranger Things” Actor Noah Schnapp, AKA Will Byers, Just Came Out as Gay

He came out in a TikTok earlier today.

It’s 2023, and it’s totally up to an individual whether or not they decide to disclose their sexuality. In the end, it’s sunshine and rainbows either way (pun intended).

As Lady Gaga once said, “no matter gay, straight, or bi’, lesbian, transgender life”—you were born this way, baby.

This morning, one of our fave “Stranger Things” cast members came out on TikTok, and the response has been resoundingly beautiful.

18-year-old Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, posted a simple and straight-to-the-point eight second video in which he mouths along to the words “you know what it never was? That serious”, as the text on the screen reads “when I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared and in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know’”.

In his caption, Noah alluded to the parallels between him, and his character Will, writing “I guess I’m more similar to will than I thought”.

Back in July, Noah confirmed Will identifies as gay in Variety, saying “it’s 100% clear that he is gay and does love Mike.”

It’s been a slow burn over the past four seasons of “Stranger Things”, and we love to see the representations both on, and now off screen.
