Chews Blues: Starburst Has Been Discontinued in Australia

A viral TikTok has confirmed the Star-worst.🍬

The iconic lollies will disappear from shop shelves and our hearts soon.

The revelation comes after TikTok user Nariman Dein uploaded a “conspiracy theory” asking why she couldn’t find them.

The TikTok, which has been watched nearly 300,000 times, laments not being able to find Starburst Chews, Babies or Snakes in any Sydney shops.

“I’m having some conspiracy theory – did they just stop selling them and no-one noticed?”

“These were the best and I can’t find them anywhere,” Nariman said.

Starburst is made by candy giant Mars-Wrigley, and although Mars-Wrigley makes some of its products here in Australia, Starburst products are made in Europe.

Unfortunately, they're no longer going to be shipped to Australia.

At the end of the TikTok, Nariman asked her viewers, “can someone tell me where they disappeared to?”

To her and our surprise, Mars-Wrigley actually responded, and it wasn’t sweet news.

“The brand has been exposed to supply chain difficulties and rising cost pressures over the past two years,” a spokesperson said.

“After reviewing all options, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue the brand in Australia.”

Fans of Starburst are sure to be feeling sweet sorrow.
