Spy on Fish in High Luxe Style With These Crystal Kayaks

You ever been on a glass-bottom boat? Well, this is the next best thing.

There’s a lot worth exploring on the sea floor, so it only makes sense to do it in crystal-clear definition. At your own pace.

One company has cashed in on this idea by creating transparent kayaks.

Not everyone has the fondest memories of kayaking. I, for one, endured an embarrassing capsizing incident at camp in Year 5. But if anything will change my hardline negative opinion on kayaking, it’s this.

The Crystal Kayak Company creates kayaks fit for two people; each one has two seats and two paddles, which means you can drag a friend along with you to spy on fish. If no one wants to join in on your semi-weird fish voyeurism, you can easily remove a seat and ride solo.

Just to be clear, the kayaks aren’t made of actual crystal. (I suspect that’s because a real crystalline boat wouldn’t do a great job at floating). It’s made of a fancy kind of polycarbonate, which is science talk for a smooth, clear material that won’t get damaged by salt water.

The price? At the moment these beauties go for $AU2000; that’s before shipping from the U.S. If that’s too expensive, there’s still the old-fashioned way of kayaking (I guess)...

Just don’t end up like this guy:
