Spotify Wrapped 2019 Has Launched, So It’s Time To Re-Evaluate Your Listening Choices

What do you mean I listened to the same five songs the whole year?

If you spend a significant amount of time playing music on Spotify, it’s probably safe to assume that you’re not particularly proud of everything you listen to.

You might have made a pledge this year to develop your music tastes and explore other genres, only to find yourself blasting Nikki Webster’s "Strawberry Kisses" on repeat. Or perhaps you never truly grew out of your emo kid phase, so you spent 2019 jamming to The Killers and My Chemical Romance (this writer is guilty).

Either way, you can’t hide your listening habits from Spotify. The recently launched annual Wrapped function gives you a breakdown of your top artists, songs and genres for this year. It also shows you how your sound changed over the different seasons, and how many minutes you’ve spent on the music service.

Furthermore, Wrapped 2019 shows you who your artist of the decade is, so you might realise you're still just a Backstreet Boys stan at heart.

As predicted, not everyone is pleased with their results.

Although, others are more than satisfied with their top songs and artists.

Spotify Australia has also released a bunch of results. As it turns out, the Aussie bangers that were played the most include Tones and I’s "Dance Monkey", "Be Alright" by Dean Lewis and 5SOS' "Youngblood".

The top Australian artists globally were Sia, 5SOS and AC/DC.

If you haven't got around to checking out your #spotifywrapped, head here.

Now, go forth and take some time to re-evaluate your listening choices, or celebrate your exceptional taste.
