Sonia Kruger Goes Full Trump; Says Australia Should Stop Muslim Migration

We await comment from Daryl Somers on the state of Australia’s foreign relations.

Former Dancing with the Stars co-host Sonia Kruger has chimed in with her thoughts on the geopolitical landscape, suggesting Australia should take up Donald Trump’s suggestion to ban Muslim migration.

Speaking on Today Extra, Kruger reiterated points raised in an article by Andrew Bolt, in which France’s recent terror attacks (such as that seen in Nice) were blamed on the nation’s intake of Muslim migrants.

“Personally, I would like to see [Muslim migration] stop now for Australia,” she said.

She offered the suggestion after noting she had many “peace-loving, beautiful Muslim friends”.

Kruger pointed to Japan, with its low Muslim population, as a model to emulate.

“I want to feel safe, as all of our citizens do when they go out to celebrate Australia Day, and I’d like to see freedom of speech,” she added, apparently without irony.

As News.com.au reports, Today Extra host David Campbell challenged Kruger by saying, “I’d like to see freedom of religion as well, as well as freedom of speech! They both go hand in hand.”

He then said of Bolt’s article, “This breeds hate.”

Kruger is the current host of The Voice Australia, which just wrapped up its sixth season. Start placing bets as to whether or not shell be invited back for Season 7.

Fun (?) fact: Kruger once met with Trump in an attempt to get him to act as guest judge on Dancing with the Stars. She described him as "a fascinating man, really dry but very warm at the same time... but there's no denying he's a total flirt."

Update: Sonia Kruger has added the following to her Twitter page. (Yes, #asamother is already a sarcastic trending topic on Twitter.)
