Small Child Steals Parent’s Car, Defies the Law and Goes For a Maccas Run With His Little Sister

An eight-year-old boy from Ohio has stolen his parents' car for a quick trip to McDonald’s after learning how to drive on YouTube.

While YouTube is a great learning resource for us all, it’s not quite enough to gain a driver’s license in most jurisdictions. This did not matter to the Ohio boy.

The boy allegedly approached the McDonald’s drive-through and ordered a cheeseburger, which he said he would pay for with money from his piggy bank.

According to the Weirton Daily Times, the McDonald’s staff thought they were being pranked.

Possibly the most impressive thing about this whole story is the fact that the child obeyed all traffic lights and laws, and patiently waited for the cars to pass before taking a very safe turn into McDonald’s. That’s probably safer than about 81 per cent of people on the road.

When he was caught, he broke into tears, sobbing that he just wanted to get a cheeseburger. Well, don’t we all?

But like any good American story, it had a happy ending. The kid and his little sister still received their chicken nuggets and cheeseburger while they waited to be taken to the police station.

That’s enough internet for today.
