Since Planking Is Well And Truly A Dead Craze, The Internet Came Up With A Second: The Mannequin Challenge

While planking, ice buckets, harlem shaking and clowns are out, apparently posing as mannequins is in?

CNET reports the latest viral challenge where you stand still and do nothing is called the "Mannequin Challenge" (for obvious reasons).

What you do is, you grab a few friends and suss out a good spot. Usually it's in classrooms, school hallways or parks. Once you've found the perfect setting, you all stand still and someone records the scene.

That's pretty much it: you find a spot and stand still in it. Class adjourned.

But for real though, it'll take more than just minimal effort to make your Mannequin Challenge go viral.

Take for instance the Army West Point Gymnastics team's version.

If it's done right, you're meant to end up with something that resembles a frozen scene, like a freeze frame from The Matrix.

Apparently the inspiration for the craze came from a group of high school kids who might have taken their teacher's advice to "just sit still" too literally, reports the Guardian.

Am I the only one who gets a bit freaked out watching these videos? It's as though there's an actual glitch in the Matrix.

It's also scarily reminiscent of the episode of The Simpsons where Bart and Milhouse get their hands on that "Miracle Watch" which let's them stop time.

Not to state the obvious, but it is US election day. Pretty sure there's no better time to include this, than today. It's Hillary Clinton's campaign team getting on board the mannequin challenge meme, check it out:

The clip ends with everyone relaxing and a message reading, "Don't stand still. Vote today."

Effective campaigning, if you ask me.
