What We Know So Far About Season 3 of “Severance”

The first few episodes of Severance Season Two left us all with a lot of questions like: Who is Miss Huang? Why is she a child? What are the goats for? And what do the numbers actually mean? 

While some of our puzzled minds were left at ease by the end of Season Two, there was still much that was left unanswered. And while the second season gave us more closure than the cliffhanger of Season One and an amazing marching band performance led by Mr Milchick, we’re still very eager for season three. 

Please try to enjoy each of these points equally. 

What do we know so far about Severance Season Three? 

It’s likely that there won’t be as long of a wait between seasons. The three-year hiatus between the first two seasons was due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023.  

Showrunners Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller are both keen to be back in the office at Lumon for the next season with Dan Erickson telling Entertainment Weekly, “I would love to finish the show before I’m 70.”  

Plus, Ben Stiller confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter back in Feb that they were working on the new season in the writers’ room. 

What about the plot? 

There isn’t a lot of news so far about the plot of the next season but we know that the ending shot of Season Two strongly suggests what’s to come in Season Three (a love hexagon?) The freeze-frame we see at the end as innie Mark and Helly run away from outie Mark’s wife, Gemma tells us there’s a lot more to be discovered about Lumon that hopefully they’ll be able to unveil to the world.  

Who’s making their return? 

Adam Scott suggested in an interview that we might see the whole crew back on screen again (hopefully reunited with Irv?)  

The last time we saw Dylan G., he was rallying the Choreography and Merriment department against Milchick, trying to contain him in the bathroom while Mark S. and Helly R. ran off together.

All we know is we still have heaps of questions for the future of Severance especially about the mysterious and important work at the company, Lumon.  

And we need to know who Irving was talking to on the payphone – was it actually one of the doctors? Who knows. What we do know is that it definitely wasn’t Helena running through the halls with Mark, as confirmed by Britt Lower herself.
