Ryan Adams Is Recording A “1989” Covers Album And Taylor Swift Is Psyched

Swifty has already proven she digs downbeat covers of her own music, so it’s no surprise she’s amped to hear Ryan Adams’ proposed tribute to her blockbuster album 1989.

It all began when Adams posted to Instagram snaps of his annotated lyrics to “Welcome to New York”, “Blank Space” and "Style", the LP’s opening three tracks.

When Tay Tay found out, she seemed at least mildly enthusiastic about Ry Ry's project.


Confirmation came, ahem, swiftly, from Adams himself.


It was followed by a brief snippet from his take on “Welcome to New York.”


Even if all of this just Adams’ attempt to get into Taylor’s fabled squad, we endorse the endeavour wholeheartedly.
