Rumour Has It: Dami Im Will Represent Australia At Eurovision

From an Australian Idol to an X Factor winner…

The SMH is pretty dang certain former X Factor contestant Dami Im will be announced as Australia’s 2016 Eurovision contestant tomorrow evening.

They’re not naming sources (journalism!) but the SMH insists Im has trumped Tina Arena and Delta Goodrem, who were previously considered frontrunners for the gig.

Last year, Guy Sebastian became Australia’s first Eurovision performer, getting to fifth place with his song “Tonight Again”.

The Korean-born, Queensland-raised Im seems even more tailor-made for Eurovision, what with her audacious outfits and bombastic, Eurotrashy ballads. Like this one:

Of course, nothing’s official until the bearded lady sings. Former Eurovision champ, Conchita Wurst, will reveal Australia's official contender from the Sydney Opera House stage tomorrow at approximately 9:30pm AEDT.

The named performer will then head to Stockholm for the May semi-finals.

It’s all getting terribly exciting.
