Guy Sebastian Takes Fifth Place At Eurovision

Good one, Guy!

Guy Sebastian led Australia to an impressive fifth placing at our first Eurovision appearance, ultimately being bested by the Swedes.

Sebastian's performance of "Tonight Again" earned 196 points, landing Australia above also-rans Latvia, Estonia and Norway.

However, it wasn't enough to top the representatives of Belgium, Italy and Russia, who nabbed 217, 292 and 303 points respectively.

Sweden was the decisive victor with 365 points, thanks to Mans Zelmerlow's performance of "Heroes" alongside an animated stick-figure. Look, Europe is weird.

It marks Sweden's sixth victory in the festival's history. The nation is now just one win behind record-holder Ireland.

The wooden-spoon was shared between Germany and Austria; a particularly embarrassing result for the latter, considering their submission, Conchita Wurst, took the crown in 2014.

We'd say "better luck next year" if we weren't actually hoping Australia gets invited back to take the top spot instead.
