Prepare to Bawl: Tame Impala's Aussie Tour Has Been Postponed Once Again

Truly, the less I know the better.

Our hearts are broken because Tame Impala have announced that their Slow Rush tour won't be coming to Australia and New Zealand until December 2021.

Yep, that’s right, we have to wait another whole year!

Tame Impala’s last Australian performance was at the Splendour in the Grass festival back in July 2019, so it has been a long enough wait already.

Initially, the Australian leg of the tour was set for April this year, but thanks to COVID (haha, what else?) it got pushed back to December.

While the rescheduling definitely sucked, we were holding onto the fact that the psychedelic band would still play in Oz in 2020. But once again, we’ve drawn the short straw and we're being made to wait 'til next year.

So, before the dates get changed for the third time, here they are:

  • Auckland – Spark Arena: 5 December 2021
  • Sydney – Qudos Bank Arena: 7 December 2021
  • Brisbane – Brisbane Entertainment Centre: 9 December 2021
  • Melbourne – Rod Laver Arena: 12 & 13 December 2021
  • Adelaide – Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena: 15 December 2021
  • Perth – RAC Arena: 18 December 2021

You can purchase tickets for their New Zealand shows from Ticketmaster and Australian tickets from Ticketek.

If you purchased tickets for the April or December shows, don’t stress, those are still valid for 2021. If you can’t make it anymore, you should be able to get a full refund through your ticket provider.

While we won't be seeing Tame Impala for a long while, you can still listen to their latest album The Slow Rush and their most recent single Borderline (Blood Orange Remix) on Spotify and Apple Music.
