Police Won’t Charge YouTuber Brooke Houts With Animal Abuse

You can imagine how Twitter feels about this.
YouTuber Brooke Houts has escaped a criminal charge from the Los Angeles Police Department, with the LAPD concluding "there was no crime" in the published video of her hitting and seemingly spitting on her dog.
According to Buzzfeed, the LAPD’s Animal Cruelty unit closed the case against Houts, with a police spokesperson saying that “they determined [the content of the video] didn’t rise to the level of animal cruelty”.
Houts initially drew criticism for uploading what appeared to be an uncut video to her popular YouTube channel in which attempts to prank her Doberman, Sphinx, turned disturbing.
When the dog didn’t respond as she had hoped, she was seen hitting, holding down and spitting on the pup.
She eventually deleted the uncut video and an edited version without the abuse was uploaded, but the internet never forgets.
Brooke posted a lengthy note on Twitter denying that she was an abuser, adding, "On the day in particular that the video was filmed, and actually this past week, things in my outside life have been less than exceptional."

She has remained inactive on social media and YouTube since the controversy began.
Twitter, however, has been happy to chime in regarding the LAPD's controversial call.
