Nintendo Just Launched A Social Networking App… For Your Mii

Twist! Just as Snapchat and Instagram look to update their social media platforms, Nintendo has stormed in with a cartoonish new network called Miitomo.

On the free App, users can create Miis - Remember them? From Wiis? – and answer questions about their personality, which will be shared with the rest of your Mii buddies.

It seems mostly pointless, but then again, so is much of the Internet.

That hasn’t stopped Miitomo from becoming an instant hit in America, where it raced to the top of the charts for iPhone and iPad games within 24 hours.

Will there soon be a mass migration of users from Snapchat and the like to Miitomo? Seems unlikely, but then again, who would’ve guessed a photo-sharing service that instantly erases your images would catch on?
