Three Of Australia’s Rising Podcasters Talk Starting A Brand New Show, Their Dream Collabs And More

Meet the future of podcasts.

Podcasting is the big thing right now – but with so many out there, it’s hard to know which ones to follow, and how to find the best new ones.

Student Edge sat down with three new podcasters on the scene who’ve made the big jump from TikTok videos to producing their own podcasts.

Thanks to Spotify, Bridey and Jiney, Jasmine TXO and Hannah Pengilly have all got the chance to produce their own new podcast with the Make Waves program, which aims to give young Aussies a voice, and recognise up-and-coming young people.

Each podcast has its own unique feel and presentation, so let’s go have a look at each one.

Bridey Drake and Jiny Maeng – Bridey and Jiny.

In their new podcast, Bridey and Jiny, the two tackle life from all angles, talking about their school lives, culture, relationships, friends, food and more.

“It was just so natural, because this is our friendship, and who we are,” Bridey said. “To put that to mic was so natural.”

“You can probably tell we just love chatting … it just all made sense,” Jiny laughed.

Jasmine TXO – All That Jazz.

Jasmine Txo’s new podcast, All That Jazz, Jasmine is joined by diverse guests to tackle questions of success, building yourself and your own confidence.

“The podcast is really just about like being inclusive and authentic. We’ve got the party you're always invited to. It's a really fun kind of place where it's all about embracing everything that you are to become the most authentic version of you,” she said.

Hannah Pengilly – Pengo Pod.

On Pengo Pod, Hannah Pengilly (better known as Pengo Art) takes you to Imagination Shire, where she explores art, creativity, and chats to other artists about their experiences.

“It's a very creative podcast all about art and creativity and celebrating people who are creative. In the podcast, basically, I'm the mayor of Imagination Shire. I talk through a whole bunch of different creative subjects,” Hannah said.

If you’re on the hunt for the latest podcast, why not check out Student Edge’s new show? How Did I Get Here? asks celebrities, musicians, sports stars and more how they got here – taking them back to their school days, their uni life and how they built their huge careers.

Featuring the likes of the West Coast Eagles’ Will Schofield and SLUMBERJACK’s Fletcher Ehlers, How Did I Get Here? is out every Wednesday, and each episode features a unique guest asking themselves – how did I get here?
