Netflix Has Renewed "Ozark" for a Fourth and Final Season

Get ready to say goodbye.
We know that all good things must come to an end, but it's always particularly difficult to bid farewell to a television series you loved.
Unfortunately for Ozark stans, that time has come.
As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has renewed the show for a fourth and final season.

Although, the news isn't all bad. On the bright side, we've got confirmation that we'll find out exactly how the Byrde family's journey ends (rather than see the show axed before reaching its conclusion).
Plus, it's going to be a super-sized season. While the previous three seasons of the Emmy Award-winning show have contained 10 episodes each, Netflix has ordered 14 episodes for the upcoming fourth season. They will be split into two equal parts.
*Ozark Season 3 spoilers below.*
If you need a quick recap, the S3 finale ended with Marty (Jason Bateman) attempting to get the FBI to take down Navarro's (Felix Solis) rival cartel, but at the same time, he is abruptly asked by Navarro to board a plane with Helen (Janet McTeer) and Wendy (Laura Linney) to attend Navarro's son's baptism.
In the final moments of the season, Helen is shot in the head by Navarro's henchman.
*End of spoilers.*
At this stage, plot details for Season 4 have not been revealed.
Additionally, dates for the final season haven't been set. It's not clear when production will start, especially considering many series have delayed production due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"We're so happy Netflix recognised the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes' saga right," showrunner and executive producer Chris Mundy told The Hollywood Reporter.
"It's been such a great adventure for all of us—both on screen and off—so we're thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible."
Jason Bateman said, "A super-sized season means super-sized problems for the Byrdes. I'm excited to end with a bang(s)."
Ozark won two Emmys in 2019, and its third season racked up an average of 8.7 million viewers over its first 10 days.
Well, it looks like Season 4 is going to be one wild ride.
