NBN Finally Updates Its Tracker; Find Out When You Can Connect Your Address

The NBN has finally updated its online “address checker” so you’ll know exactly when you can contact a retailer to get connected.

“The number one question we get asked is ‘when am I getting the NBN?’ and today's update to our website provides the answer to that very question,” announced John Simon, the NBN’s Chief Customer Officer.

“We have moved away from telling people when we’ll be building in their neighbourhood to when they can contact their retailer to buy a service.”

The previous address tracker only told people when the NBN construction would begin in their area, but didn’t give a specific time for when the service would be available.

In addition to an actual time frame, the online tool will show what kind of technology will be used in the roll out. Unfortunately, it won’t include information on internet speeds and bandwidth.

It’s hoped every household in Australia will have access to the network by 2020.
