Mia Challis Talks Outer Banks S4 and Her Advice for ATAR students

Ruthie might just be one of the most villainous kooks we've seen 😈

A Perth native, you might think Mia Challis and her beach-loving Outer Banks Season Four character Ruthie, have a lot in common.

But unlike the mean-spirited Kook she plays, Mia is much bubblier and says she is most like Pope in real life.

We got a chance to speak to her and she said she had a great time joining the OBX cast.

"It was so fun joining the cast, I mean they are just such nice people, and they are like a family so joining as a recurring you never really know because it's already an established cast," she told Student Edge.

"But they were just so welcoming and it's like no other set I've ever been on before.

"It was definitely a learning experience I kinda had to adapt so quickly but was so fun, I had the best time."

Outer Banks won't be the only time we see this Aussie on our screens. She recently wrapped a lead role in Dan Phillips’ new horror feature DIABOLIC, playing Gwen.

And it was a big shift from one character to another.

"Gwen is completely different to Ruthie and honestly in every sense of the word," Mia said.

"And it was fun because I wrapped Outer Banks and went straight to playing Gwen so I had to shake off Ruthie and be like okay let's be a yoga queen now."

Despite dialing in from Los Angeles, Mia can't wait to get back to Perth in a few weeks and has some advice for all those students currently sitting their ATAR and end of year exams.

"I was so dedicated at school, 'I was like have to get the best grade, I have to just give it my all' and I really did try really hard," Mia told us.

"But as you get older and I know this might sound cliché, but it's not worth the stress.

"In the sense that your mental health should always come first, give yourself plenty of breaks, everything will be fine.

"If you don't get the exact mark, it's okay there's always another way in life."
