Melbourne Dude Crashes Car Into School While Playing Pokémon Go

Here’s your daily reminder to Poké responsibly.

A 19-year-old Melbournite accidentally drove his car into a portable school building in Melbourne last night, with officers saying he was playing Pokémon Go on his phone at the time.

According to The Guardian, he was trying to capture a Pokémon while navigating a roundabout in Berwick and ultimately lost control. (We really hope it wasn’t a Zubat that caused all this unnecessary trouble.)

Thankfully, no one was injured, but the driver will be charged with careless driving.

Police have already warned drivers that playing Pokémon Go on the literal go can result in a $466 fine and four demerit points.

As 40 flashing road signs across Victoria already remind people, “Don’t drive and Pokémon.”

And if you don’t know, now you know.
