Meanwhile In Australia: Melbourne Bloke Lost His License For Drink Driving On A Motorised Esky

A 20-year-old Melbourne man had his license revoked after cops caught him drunk at the wheel of a motorised esky in Mooroolbark last night.

Josh Griffiths, an apprentice carpenter, copped a fine of more than $1000 when spotted riding an esky at around 11pm on Saturday, according to the Herald Sun.

“I jumped on and was just outside my mate’s place and one of the neighbours rang the cops and complained,” said Mr Griffiths.

“I just fixed my esky and took it outside, and then about 10 minutes later the police came down the street and got me,” the man told Channel Ten.

Thankfully no one was hurt, although, leading Senior Constable Adam Dickenson reminded folks that Griffith’s drink driving had “potential disaster” written all over it.

“To have this young man riding around poorly lit streets whilst alcohol affected, with no vehicle lights and not wearing any protective equipment, it’s simply a recipe for disaster,” said Mr Dickenson.

The man, who was on his P-plates, returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.041 after being breath-tested, resulting in (yep, you guessed it), the cancellation of his license. He was also fined $389 for drink-driving and $777 for using an unregistered vehicle.

Lesson of the day: Drink driving under any circumstances, and with any vehicle, is just a very bad idea.
