Guns N’ Roses Accidentally Shout ‘Hello Sydney’ to a Melbourne Crowd

Rock band Guns N’ Roses were met with a chorus of boos after mistaking their Melbourne crowd for a Sydney one.

Let’s be honest: It’s not nice being mistaken for another person, but it’s even worse when it’s your arch-nemesis.

While on tour down under, Guns N’ Roses’ announcer yelled out “Sydney” just before they walked on stage. In Melbourne.

Who was the culprit? Guitar technician McBob made the slip up; he’d been introducing the group on stages around the world during their Not In This Lifetime tour. He should be, like, a seasoned veteran at this point.

Luckily, fans were ultimately super understanding and quick to forgive ol’ mate McBob for his momentary slip up. One fan said: “One mistake every 30 years… Reasonable.”

The band definitely weaselled their way out of what could have been a tricky situation. Sydney and Melbourne, two of Australia’s largest cities, have had quite the long-running rivalry dating way back.
