Tears Of A Clown: McDonald’s Sidelines Ronald In Response To Creepy Clown Sightings

McDonald’s has decided to sideline Ronald McDonald until this whole clown plague we find ourselves in the midst of blows over.

The company released a statement yesterday saying it is being “thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald's participation in community events” given the “current climate around clown sightings in communities,” the AP reports.

It’s bad news for the red-headed icon, but great news for the rest of us, who are pretty much fine having one less clown to deal with.

We’re assuming Ronald will be taking the opportunity to spend more time with his family: the Fry Kids.

It is not known how long Ronald will be sidelined for, or if the Hamburglar, Grimace and Birdie will step up to become McDonald’s most prominent mascots in the coming weeks.

In case you didn’t know, people have been dressing as clowns and terrorising Americans for much of 2016. Recently, the sightings have extended to Australia.
