Macca’s Have Brought Back the Grand Mac and Mac Jr for Their 50th Anniversary

Welcome back Mac Jr and Grand Mac.

McDonald’s 50th anniversary celebrations in Australia continues with the golden arches revealing the return of two fan favourite burgers to celebrate the birthday milestone.

From today, the Aussie classics The Mac Jr and Grand Mac are back by popular demand, available on the menu at all restaurants across the country.

“Boasting all the flavours of the traditional Big Mac, including Macca’s Special Sauce, the Mac Jr is a smaller single patty variation,” the fast-food chain said in a statement.

“While the Grand Mac lives up to its title, offering up to 61 per cent more Aussie beef than the Big Mac classic.”

Honestly, I wish most meals in my life had 61 per cent more beef.

To cap that off, limited edition Macca’s glasses are making a comeback, free with every medium or large Mac Family Meal ordered. The exclusive glasses have six unique designs: Big Mac, Macca’s cup, pack fries, sesame seeds, cheese melt and loose fries.

Apparently, the glasses have been designed with a round shape to allow you to swirl your drink without spilling it. I’m not even taking creative liberty there; the press release specifically says they want you to swirl your drink like some kind of Bond villain.

The good news is the celebrations won’t stop here. Macca’s are going to be treating hungry diners to a range of “never-before-seen promotions, menu items and unique collaborations from June until the end of August.”

Last week, we saw the exclusive 50 cent Big Mac for Friday only. Here’s hoping they bring back the OG Angus burger. That was honestly the best burger they’ve ever created, and it saddens me that it no longer exists.

The Mac Jr and Grand Mac are available from today until 3 August. A medium Mac Jr meal costs $11.85 and a medium Grand Mac meal costs $14.70. Limited edition glasses are available while stocks last.
