Marvel Told Tom Holland He Landed The Role Of Spider-Man Via Instagram

Imagine finding out you landed your dream job not through a call, or an email, but through Instagram.
That's exactly what happened to actor Tom Holland, who found out he scored the role of Peter Parker in the upcoming Marvel film, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Holland said he found out the good news while very casually scrolling through his Instagram feed while in bed.
"It had been about a month since my audition. And Marvel just posted a photo saying go to our website and find out who the next Spider-Man is," he said.
Obviously intrigued, Holland jumped on his computer and headed straight to the Marvel website.
"And there it was: The New Spider-Man is Tom Holland. I went ballistic, like absolutely nuts."
The rising star described the super competitive casting process. He jokingly said it as feeling like The Hunger Games, because there were about six kids in the room waiting to audition, and obviously everyone was totally gunning for the role.
When asked how the new Peter Parker will differ this time (in comparison to the previous two), Holland said the biggest difference is his youth and innocence.
"You've seen the billionaire, the scientist, the soldier. Now it's time to see the kid," he answered.
As for other actors who've already been cast for the film, we know that Zendaya will be playing a character named "Michelle".
Heaps of people suspect Michelle will be Spider-Man's love interest, but Zendaya has been quick to dismiss the rumours.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya reportedly laughed and said, "No. My character is not romantic."
I guess all will be revealed when the film comes out. In the meantime, speculate away! Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released next year, July 7.
