Louis Did Not Approve That Animated "Larry Stylinson" Scene In "Euphoria"

Careful Zendaya, the Larries are out for blood.

HBO’s Euphoria, now airing on Foxtel, is not here to play around. We knew that from the first episode, which had to be censored ahead of its airing in Australia.

And we definitely knew it by the second episode, which featured a ridiculous number of d***s (with several more left on the cutting room floor—actually, that’s a pretty poor choice of wording).

But its third episode, "Made You Look" might be its most controversial yet, and it’s all thanks to an animated sequence featuring Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles going at it.

The ep opens with Rue (Zendaya) narrating the sad pubescence of Kat (Barbie Ferreira), and how she escaped her loneliness as a teen by writing slash-fiction on Tumblr about 1D lads Louis and Harry.

Kat becomes internet-famous for her "Larry Stylinson" story "The First Night", which suggests Harry helped ease Louis’ nerves before a One Direction gig. The show brings this to life in psychedelic animated fashion, with Zendaya providing British accents to impersonate Tomlinson and Styles.

Louis has since confirmed via Twitter that he most definitely did not consent to his likeness being used (not that he would necessarily need to from a legal perspective).

However, One Directioners—and even "Larries", the subculture of fans who ship Louis and Harry romantically—have expressed even more rage over Euphoria taking creative licence with their boys.

just going to sit and hope that they for some reason approved it because surely they had to to get it aired 😭😭 harry seems quite friendly with the people involved but u can just TELL louis’ not gonna like it 😬

For everyone currently not aware, on the HBO show Euphoria a sex scene that involved Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson (aka “larry”) was shown without consent or approval. This fan made “ship” has hurt harry and louis relationship and is something that has..#LTandHSdeservesbetter

Others have pointed out that sexually explicit One Direction fan-fiction has been published online for years, and that "Larries", in particular, are being hypocritical for arguing against what they created (and which initially bothered Louis and Harry before Euphoria was ever a thing).

larries on here yelling at HBO for assuming Harry and Louis’ sexualities like they haven’t been doing the same thing since 2011. pic.twitter.com/x2Av5xHf7n

The makers of Euphoria, meanwhile, are probably glad to have inspired the exact reaction they wanted. Get ready for more prodding, because there’s still five more episodes in this season to come.
