A Literal Cat Burglar Is Stealing All Of New Zealand’s Underwear

1. Collect underpants. 2. ? 3. Profits.

Let the debate over cat trustworthiness be ended.

A six-year-old Tonkinese cat named Brigit has been terrorising New Zealand by stealing countless pairs of underwear (not to mention lonely, single socks), ABC News reports.

Brigit’s owner, Sarah Nathan, has attempted to right her pet’s wrongs by posting a picture of her haul on Facebook, encouraging nearby neighbours in the local area of Hamilton to identify their jocks and come collect them. (Yeah, I’m sure the victims will get right on that.)

Brigit’s knicking of knickers began six months ago, but as Sarah notes in her FB post, “Now it’s getting silly.” Now.

Nathan has even travelled around NZ’s north island, dropping apologetic notes in mailboxes offering dudes the chance to reclaim their undies. Shockingly, that hasn’t worked in reuniting owners with their missing unmentionables.

When interviewed by the New Zealand Herald, Sarah was asked why Brigit had so far only targeted the bathing-suit areas of guys.

"It's all men's. It's really, really weird. She's got really specific taste," she offered.

Sarah and Brigit are planning on moving overseas soon, where Brigit will be able to evade extradition for her criminal activity.

It’s the perfect crime.
